[edit] Learning Philosophy
Children learn through experiencing the world around them. If a young child experiences beauty through the arts and through the natural world, then they will learn the language of beauty.
Children learn to paint by painting, music by singing and playing instruments and they learn to dance by dancing. They do all of this under the guidance of skilled and caring teachers. Children learn the basics of literacy as they sing their favorite songs, listen to their favorite books and poems, draw and paint their favorite parts of books and stories and respond in a variety of forms to the beauty of the natural world.
Children absorb concepts at a very rapid pace in these developmental years. St. E’s Early Childhood program provides a variety of learning opportunities for every student to develop at his/her best possible pace. As such, the SEOH Early Childhood Program is a two-year developmental program (Pre-K and K) designed for optimal performance and success.
