Prentice-Hall Literature, Levels Copper, Bronze and Silver.

Students learn and experience the six major literary genres:
- novels
- short stories
- fiction
- non-fiction
- drama and
- oral tradition
An integrated Language Arts program is introduced and developed. Students read a wide range of print and non-print text to build an understanding of themselves and of the customs of the United States and the World.
[edit] Homework Policy
Homework is a nightly experience. Short and long term projects will determine the amount of time that will be needed to meet goals:
- 6th Grade: 15-20 minutes
- 7th Grade: 30 minutes
- 8th Grade: 30 minutes

The grading scale for the Archdiocese of Miami is used:
- A: 93-100%
- B: 85-92%
- C: 77-84%
- D: 70-76%
- F: Below 70%
Assessments are necessary to monitor student progress and to validate curriculum goals.
